RVCA Corporation had been one of California's hottest surfwear/activewear brands for almost ten years when Mr. Vogele became its attorney in 2009. The company, founded by local artists and surfers in a garage in Costa Mesa, achieved phenomenal sales growth from 2001 through 2010, when it was acquired by Billabong International, Ltd. Mr. Vogele was part of the legal team that represented RVCA in the sale and personally managed the registration and transfer of RVCA's significant worldwide intellectual property, including recovering several trademarks that had been pirated in several Asian countries.
Mr. Vogele also successfully represented RVCA in a variety of litigation and transactional situations, all of which required his unique blend of business savvy and expertise, legal skills and creative problem solving, including several large commercial disputes involving trademark infringement, breach of contract and wrongful termination/age and gender discrimination claims by a former manager. RVCA was the prevailing party in each of these disputes and TVA attorneys negotiated settlements worth more than $1 million in total.
"Tom [Vogele] is one of the people I rely on to help me make decisions about the direction of my business. I consider him a key part of my management team."
